Session Overview As eLearning begins to mature as a delivery system, most early adopters have realised very pleasing quantifiable savings- on-investment. However, many have also gained a range of painful insights that come from the diffusion of their eLearning strategy. This experience has delivered many valuable lessons. Most importantly is the realisation that the development of eLearning programs can be produced internally using an off-the-shelf authoring tool.
This presentation will draw upon these lessons learnt and aim to present best practice eLearning models that provide the guidance needed to develop an effective In-House eLearning capability. It will also examine how eLearning programs can be enhanced through a blended learning approach.
The lessons learnt will come as Case Studies and Demonstrations from private and public sector organisations. Experience has shown that well designed eLearning applications can give finger tip control over knowledge sources; demonstrate concepts clearly with interactive examples; allow learners to manipulate, play with, and develop ownership of concepts. eLearning experiences can also be designed to allow the learners to investigate problem solving and creative thinking strategies by way of a risk-free environment. To achieve the ideal outcome and get the best out of an in-house eLearning capability we will examine how to organise your learning team to take advantage of their existing skills and their need for new skills.
Key Outcomes - Examine Best Practice eLearning Models suitable for an in-house development capability - Analyse the feasibility of developing an in-house eLearning capability - Describe the process of determining curriculum components suitable for eLearning delivery - Describe the design considerations for an appropriate eLearning initiative that supports a blended learning strategy - Examine change management issues relating to the development of an in-house eLearning capability.
